What's the rationale for not having Sensor Artifact Function not be a subclass of Measurement Artifact Function
Sensor Modality Function: A Sensor Artifact Function that inheres in some Sensor in virtue of the type of energy the Sensor is capable of converting into an output signal.
Every sensor has some type of energy the sensor is capable of converting to an output signal.
For each of those there is (even if not named) a corresponding Subclass of Sensor Modality Function.
But the sum of the extensions of all those subclasses is that same extension as Sensor Sensor Modality Function and Sensor Artifact functions.
In other words, Sensor Modality Function seems like a metaclass, not a class. As a class it would be equivalent to Sensor Artifact Function, since equal extensions = equivalent classes.
Recommendation: Obsolete Sensor Modality Function.
