Thanks @michaelm7456! 🚀 ... Sorry for the trouble, but they didn't tell me that these changes were being made, nor did I spot them in the large sweeps of updates that I had to make. This one got by 😈. There might be others as well. I have a tracking item for one of their engineers to review this article for 8.0, but that still hasn't happened. I'll make sure that eventually one of them takes a look at it. In the meantime, this will deal with the problem that you discovered.
