Set the Sleep Mode to Unlocked, Sleep timer to 0 (disabled)
Turn the display off by pressing the encoder for 2 seconds
Adjust the volume as usual: press the encoder for 0.5 seconds to invoke the volume menu, then rotate it to adjust the volume

With the display off there is less noise during reception of weak stations. When the display is off, rotating the button has no effect. Would it be possible to use the rotary button for volume adjustment when the display is off?
