We wanted to use this library, but it feels like this library is abandoned? Is there an alternative?

Is there a way to update the dependecies and create a new release? This would be create, because this plugin includes clean-css which has the CWE-1333 and this could have been fixed with a new release and updated libraries or? All version of clean-css < 4.1.11 are affected.
