SCP-7879 (?)
SCP-7879 is an old, weathered book called "Book of the Simoom" with a horsehide cover and writings in Arabic, Aramaic, and an unknown language. When opened, it creates a hot, dry, dust-laden storm, called SCP-7879-A, which grows bigger and stronger the longer the book stays open, capable of covering vast areas and causing widespread damage, heat, and disease. This book, once considered a holy text by Bedouin tribes, was historically fought over and was later used by revolutionaries in Syria to fight against colonial rule, summoning devastating sandstorms and skeletal, sand-like beings called Eh'real. The book is contained by distributing ordinary copies to Bedouin tribes, respecting its cultural importance.
Cute aggression (?)
Cute aggression is the urge to squeeze or bite things perceived as overwhelmingly cute, without any actual desire to cause harm. It is a common "dimorphous display," where people experience both positive and seemingly negative expressions simultaneously, such as clenching fists or saying "I want to eat you up!" This phenomenon is believed to be a way the brain regulates intense positive emotions, preventing individuals from becoming incapacitated by adoration and instead promoting caregiving, or it may have an evolutionary purpose linked to the protection of vulnerable offspring. Research indicates that viewing cute stimuli activates both emotion and reward centers in the brain, with hormones like oxytocin (linked to affection) and vasopressin (linked to protection) playing a role in this complex response.
