I too have troubles logging into Hotmail/Office365, and can also confirm that same settings work in other programs. |

i think you can set up a home office 365 account as a "work" office 365 account. I have azure configured for some AI workflows and it works without a hitch. For mail-archiver I am authenticating fine but having permissions issues: Error syncing mail account Outlook: The server returned an unexpected status code and the error registered for this code failed to deserialize: 401 |

As far as I know, Microsoft has deprecated basic authentication for IMAP access to Hotmail/Outlook accounts, even when using an app password. Therefore, these accounts cannot be integrated at the moment. @shadowkat-xsp thats new to me! Do you have the same access to ms entra with this home to work transformed account to create the app registration? |

It's because of this: Mail Archiver needs to be able to Authenticate using OAUTH2 or some modern standard. |

I would like to be able to backup my outlook email addresses. |

Would also love to be able to do my outlook email backup too. I know Paperless does something with OAuth which was implemented here if that helps: I know the implementation there was a little complex in the way it knew what had already been consumed but thought I'd share if helpful |

Just found out that Outlook requires modern Auth from here Is there any plans for adding it? |

DavMail (https://davmail.sourceforge.net/) can be used as a bridge between Exchange and Mail-Archiver. It handles the OAuth authentication with Exchange while serving IMAP to Mail-Archiver. |

Bump. OAuth would be awesome since other mail providers might follow outlook.com . |

+1 OAuth for Outlook would be great, but it seems a bit of extra work. On a side note maybe someone should note that app password is required for Gmail and Yahoo. Great app. |

I would love Oauth too! But one thing that confused me, if you go to the Azure portal (its free even if it tells you to add a card) you can follow the instructions for an M365 account there, which does work for other services (n8n) but I cant get it to work with Mail Archiver I wonder if it slightly differs with the M365 endpoint and the Outlook.com Endpoint |

What is your question?
Hi.
Just tried the app, it works like a charm for Gmail. I also have an outlook email account, as part of my Family 365 subscription. I cannot set it up to work with IMAP using IMAP server : outlook.office365.com, IMAP port : 993 and using my email as username and an app password as password (I also tried the microsoft account password as well)
I get the following error :
Connection to email server could not be established. Please check your settings and ensure the server is reachable.
Exact same settings work in thunderbird so it must be something to do with mail-arhiver.
I also tried Microsoft 365 as Provider but it looks like Family 365 subscriptions don't offer Microsoft Entra Connect.
Any help ?
Thanks, appreciate it.
Application Version
2510.1
