Repository lacked a license file. Added a custom non-commercial license with copyright to Altitude Interactive.

Changes

  • Created LICENSE file at repository root with custom non-commercial license text
  • Copyright attribution: Altitude Interactive (2026)
  • License allows modification and distribution but explicitly forbids commercial use

Custom non-commercial license chosen to allow users to use, modify, and distribute the software while prohibiting selling, commercial products, or revenue generation. This protects the project while still encouraging community contributions.

Can we allow modification and such but forbid selling?

Changed to a custom non-commercial license that explicitly forbids selling, using in commercial products, or generating revenue while still allowing modification and distribution. See commit 2b2a860.

Greptile Overview

Greptile Summary

Changed license from MIT to custom non-commercial license. This is a significant breaking change that restricts commercial use, selling, and revenue generation from the software.

Confidence Score: 4/5

  • This PR is safe to merge with minor process improvements needed
  • The license change itself is straightforward and properly formatted. However, it violates the project's release workflow by missing a required release entry in .releases/unreleased/. This is a process issue rather than a code quality issue. The license text is clear and legally sound for its intended non-commercial purpose.
  • No files require special attention - the LICENSE file is properly formatted
