Currently, it is difficult to test CSS changes, or view posts with images locally. This appears to be because we're using static paths to, for instance, http://osc.centerforopenscience.org/theme/css/screen.css instead of a relative path to the stylesheet.
@JeffSpies, interested in hearing if you think changing the paths will cause problems.
