💡 What:

  • Replaced String.split() and Arrays.copyOf() with custom indexOf() and substring() loops in ArtifactLinkService, KpiSnapshotLedger, ArtifactLinkLedger, and TenantContext.
  • Enforced strict array bounds checking during manual parsing to avoid ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException and prevent data loss.
  • Implemented fail-fast HMAC verification in ArtifactLinkService prior to extracting individual payload fields to skip unnecessary string allocations for invalid tokens.

🎯 Why:

  • Using String.split() internally allocates multiple intermediate objects (regex patterns, string arrays, ArrayList backing), which increases Garbage Collection (GC) pressure significantly inside hot loops and high-throughput logging/token-parsing paths.

Closing this automatically generated optimization as superseded by the authoritative security stack in #270 and #276. This branch is based on pre-parent main (f3cc09a9838f0f88c81a2ceae22138fab80a2edb) and rewrites security-sensitive artifact-token parsing that #276 is explicitly hardening. It also has no exact-head GitHub Actions evidence, no benchmark proving the claimed allocation/latency benefit, no added regression/security coverage for the parser rewrite, and no authoritative documentation/CHANGELOG update. Carrying it forward now would create a stale parallel implementation and make the token boundary harder to audit. If profiling on the integrated post-#270/#276 head still shows this parsing path is material, re-propose it as one bounded benchmark-backed slice with test-first semantic/parity coverage and full mvn verify/security evidence.
