Native app does not support resizing in foldable phones and split screen mode

Action Performed:

Scenario 1:

1. Open the Android native App with a folded Galaxy Z Fold 4
2. Unfold the phone

Scenario 2:
4. open the app on an unfolded Galaxy Z Fold 4
5. fold the phone

Scenario 3:
6. Attempt to open the New Expensify app in split-screen mode on an unfolded Galaxy Z Note 4

Expected Result:

In step 2 scenario1 ,The app will switch to the wider layout and take up the full screen of the phone when unfolded
In step 4 scenario2 , The app should resize to the narrow layout when folded the phone
In step 6 Scenario3: The app should open in split screen mode, taking up half the phone’s screen.

Actual Result:

• The app will continue to display in its narrow layout, and a system growl notification will appear saying the app does not support resizing in step2
• The app will need to be restarted in order for you to continue using it in step 4
• The app does start in split view mode

@tgolen - Assigning to engineering to identify if this is a feature or a bug. This appears to be very specific to a particular phone type and need feedback if I should commit to labeling external. Thanks!

You are correct that this bug report is specific to a specific type of phone, but it may also happen with tablets that allow you to open apps in non-full-screen mode.

FWIW we purposely disabled this behavior (which is enabled by default) in this PR so that we didn't have to worry about landscape layouts. However, I don't think I agree with that past decision, because we still have to deal with landscape mode in mobile web:

If we have to support it on one platform, we should just support it on all platforms. I think this brings us more inline with our app philosophy of cross-platform 99.9999%, and ultimately will help keep the code simpler by reducing differences between the app on different platforms.

Sounds like the general consensus is that this is a new feature to support certain devices for which resizing is valuable, such as tablets and foldable phones. So that means not a bug
