Action Performed:

2. Click on any report to view details
3. Click on the "More" button and observe

Expected Result:

Users can print reports instantly from the report view

Actual Result:

New Expensify currently does not offer a Print button directly within reports. In Expensify Classic, users can print reports immediately using a dedicated Print button, enabling much faster workflows.

Introduce a Print functionality directly within reports in New Expensify that mirrors the behavior in Expensify Classic. This would allow users to instantly print reports without first downloading files, saving time and improving the overall reporting experience.

Users in New Expensify cannot print reports directly from the report view. In Expensify Classic, users can click a dedicated Print button to instantly print reports, enabling much faster workflows. This is a parity gap between the two platforms - when viewing a report and clicking the "More" button, there is no Print option available.

What is the root cause of that problem?

New Expensify currently has "Download as PDF" functionality in the MoneyReportHeader component, but it lacks a dedicated Print action. The existing secondary actions for reports (defined in src/libs/ReportSecondaryActionUtils.ts) include DOWNLOAD_PDF but do not include a PRINT action.

The infrastructure for PDF generation already exists (exportReportToPDF, downloadReportPDF), but there is no Print action that would open the PDF for printing rather than downloading it.

4. Handle the PRINT action in src/components/MoneyReportHeader.tsx:

   • Add a new option for CONST.REPORT.SECONDARY_ACTIONS.PRINT in the secondaryActionOptions
   • Use the existing exportReportToPDF function to generate the PDF
   • Instead of downloading, open the PDF in a new browser window/tab using window.open() with the PDF URL
   • The browser's native print dialog can then be triggered, or users can print directly from the new tab

The implementation should leverage the existing PDF generation infrastructure. The key difference from Download is that Print should:

• Generate the PDF (same as Download)
• Open the PDF in a new browser window instead of downloading
• On web platforms, optionally trigger window.print() automatically for the PDF viewer

For mobile platforms (iOS/Android), the Print action could either:

• Open the PDF in the native PDF viewer which has its own print functionality
• Use platform-specific share/print APIs if available

Since the issue specifically mentions web platforms (Windows: Chrome, MacOS: Chrome/Safari), the initial implementation can focus on web where window.open() with the PDF URL followed by print functionality is straightforward.
