[BUG] App Is Unable to Scan and Interpret the Code Attached to this User Story

Firstly, thanks. This app works really well. We use it a lot here here but it was unable to scan a particular code given below. Please look into it?

Expected: App is able to scan, Interpret and transmit the given code to the PC.

Actual: App is unable to scan and intepret the code.

Observation #1: For some unknown reason, v2.0.0 is unable to scan and intepret the given code while v2.0.0-rc.1 is able to.

Hi, thank you for your feedback 😀 I did not yet look into it in detail, however what always helps to increase the recognition is to:

• Increasing the scan resolution (FHD or UHD)
• Enabling "Try harder" in the advanced scanner options (Maybe also min. scan lines to 1)
• Setting the scan frequency to "Fastest"
• Limiting the code types to the relevant ones only (CODE_128 in this case)

This was a misunderstanding on my part. App actually scanned another code and I thought it worked. Apologies :(

I tried again with these settings but it didn't work unfortunately 😞

The app in version 2.1.0-rc1 is scanning this code.

I used settings:
Increasing the scan resolution (FHD or UHD)
Enabling "Try harder" in the advanced scanner options (without limiting the scan lines)
Setting the scan frequency to "0.1ms"

This is mostly related to zxing-cpp processing deficiencies [1]. The barcode detection is pretty simplistic and there is a lot of potential for improvement if one has skills and time. Unfortunately I lack some of both. There is plenty of signal processing papers online to get hints what to do.
