Which apps should have this feature?

All Fossify Apps

Feature description

As a user and developer I want to customize fossify's awesome apps with personal features.
For this a way to create own plugins could be helpful to grow the ecosystem but keep the core functionality clean.

Why do you want this feature?

I realized I need a few features which are not provided yet, e.g.

• some automation for files/images to move into the privacy area or rename or reshape them to my rules
• provide additonally help for the keyboard to custom needs and maybe provide custom snippets

To add fast a feature, I need a lot more invest into understanding your ecosystem to keep it healthy. And probably I am an expert in a different language

Additional information

this feature should have:

• A well defined structure with well defined requirements to keep the system healthy,
• it should avoid over engineering with too much or complicated requirements
• a dev should be able to onboard and develop a small feature within one day

to be discussed

• if features or plugins become popular, there could be a process to bring them to the main apps
• an automated check for the plugin to avoid issues
• maybe a library of community accepted plugins as long as they meet the checks
• a list of not confirmed plugins to keep an overview, having tags to find similar plugins to join workforce and enable collaboration
• choose between a community accepted plugin or choosing from a github repo to add easily my own plugin
• provide the option also to add hybrid feature with web tools or lanugages (like Typescript)
