Can I ask you for some clarification to be able to start working and resolve this issue ?
I was wondering why the Gradient functionality seems broken ?! I'm catching here 2 bugs but not sure about them tbh :

1. The Gradient tool above panel (Linear , Radial) is still exits even after selecting the Solid option from Proprieties panel.

I think it's a normal behavior as the Gradient tool is still selected and the above panel and buttons are related to the current selected tool.

2. The color shifting between Solid and Gradient , it seems here that each button has it's own state and the last used color, so the default one is the "White" color for the Solid button for example an so on for the Gradient button.

So should they have the same color state ? if selected "Red" for Solid and then moved to the Gradient so it should be also "Red" and vice versa ?

I'm pretty sure that after answer on these question I'll have a good exposure to start helping you and resolve the issue.

To clarify, the only bug in the video is when the solid red selection is lost when, at 0:11 in the video, it returns to solid and ends up white rather than red. This might be caused by the history transaction system (for Ctrl+Z).

The weird thing is that I've tried to reproduce the same bug on my updated master branch of the project and it worked normally.

No the issue still exists.

I'm using Zen browser which is firefox based.
and the issue as you can see is not reproducible on my machine. the fun part is: it works on my machine xD

may ask you: did you pull the latest changes from the remote repo and updated your local repo and start running the app again ?

today i found that there are some changes from the remote repo so I pulled it to have the latest version.

As you can see the url, dev.graphite.art is the latest master so that isn't the case. Also I tried again now the issue is still there.
Can you try one thing? Inplace of clicking somewhere after setting the colour into red just move your cursor aside allowing the colour palette to close by its own and then set to gradient and again solid.

okay sorry i just noticed that you're on the latest master changes already.

i opened the same url as yours , and tried to produce the issue.
