Will this repository provide document on installation and usage guidance?

I am Lijun. It is a wonderful work. I am writing to ask whether you have a plan to provide some documents on the install, dependencies, or usage of this benchmark environment.

For example, if I run the following in the folder: AssetOpsBench-main,

Thank you for trying out AssetOpsBench! Regarding your question — the reactxen module is part of a proprietary dependency that is not yet publicly available. However, we are in the process of open-sourcing it, and it will be released soon. Once it is available, we’ll make sure to provide documentation on installation, dependencies, and usage. Please stay tuned, and feel free to reach out if you have any other questions in the meantime.

One task that has to be completed before running the benchmarks (at least the IoTAgent) is to set up the CouchDB database.

You can download CouchDB from here https://couchdb.apache.org/#download

After installing CouchDB and setting the admin password, you will need to initialize with the test dataset by using this operation:
https://docs.couchdb.org/en/stable/api/database/bulk-api.html#db-bulk-docs

test dataset is here https://github.com/IBM/AssetOpsBench/blob/main/src/assetopsbench/sample_data/chiller6_june2020_sensordata_couchdb.json

Then you will need to update the URL in

AssetOpsBench/src/IoTAgent/bmstool.py

Line 14 in 0e8d20d

client = couchdb3.Server("http://admin:password@localhost:5984/")

with the admin password and machine name.

Many great thanks for your replies and guidances!

Seemingly, some modifications to the json file are needed to setup the CouchDB database.

1. First, I successfully create a test database "testdb" with the following command:

% curl -X PUT http://admin:password@127.0.0.1:5984/testdb

{"ok":true}

2. Second, an error occurs when initializing with the test dataset with the command:

% curl -X POST http://admin:password@127.0.0.1:5984/testdb/_bulk_docs \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d @chiller6_june2020_sensordata_couchdb.json 

{"error":"bad_request","reason":"Request body must be a JSON object"}

3. Then, the issue can be resolved if I modify the the json file (https://github.com/IBM/AssetOpsBench/blob/main/src/assetopsbench/sample_data/chiller6_june2020_sensordata_couchdb.json) as follows:

  "docs": [ <paste the whole array here> ]
}

I generated chiller6_june2020_sensordata_couchdb.json from a query on my CouchDB, so it is not quite suitable for the bulk insert

. Your approach is the correct one. Thanks for pointing this out.

I really appreciate the repository, information, and guidance you provided!

I have tried the installation steps in https://github.com/IBM/ReActXen and stopped at the WATSONX_APIKEY.

To configure the required .env file, I need to first get the WATSONX_APIKEY from IBM Cloud (https://cloud.ibm.com/registration), the account creation of which requires the credit card information.

Anyway, many great thanks again!
