HierarchicalSplittingMethods

Implementation of hierarchical splitting methods for the numerical results of the paper

K. Schäfers, M. Günther: A hierarchical splitting approach for N-split differential equations.

In particular, the repository contains two Jupyter notebooks.

In the first Jupyter notebook rigid-body.ipynb, the numerical tests of Section 4.1 are performed where rigid body equations are considered.

In the second Jupyter notebook FPU-system.ipynb, the numerical tests of Section 4.2 are performed where a modification of the Fermi-Pasta-Ulam (FPU) problem is considered. As the simulations performed in this notebook can take some time, the repository also contains the data obtained by running the simulations.
