Overview
Ship curated keymap presets designed specifically for software developers. No other keyboard configurator does this.
Desired behavior
- VS Code layer — pre-mapped shortcuts (Cmd/Ctrl+P, Ctrl+`, Cmd+Shift+F, etc.)
- JetBrains layer — IntelliJ/WebStorm shortcuts
- Vim layer — hjkl navigation, common vim commands on a layer
- Terminal layer — tmux prefix, common shell shortcuts
- Git shortcuts — macros for
git status, git add ., git commit, etc.
Why this matters
Positions Keylab as THE configurator for developers. No other tool offers ready-made developer keymaps — users currently have to build these from scratch.
Implementation
- Ship as importable keymap presets
- Allow users to browse and apply individual layers from presets
- Community can contribute their own developer presets
