Question about destinations

One problem I have with home manger is it doesn't seem to allow me to define where the generated modules should go... Per module that is. Every program has different discovery mechanisms and sometimes something gets overriden, and I lack a way to fix it. Could/would this module be able to help alleviate that issue?

wrappers are meant to bundle the configuration to the package (mostly). if you want to have the config path point to the direction of your choosing the wlib.types.file type allows directly setting the path which doesn't have to live in the nix store. So it could definetly help. Right now a lot of modules use a pattern that creates static configuration links due to using files directly created by a pkgs.formats.<format> generator, which makes that a bit more tricky and ideally there should be some composite type that allows both styles of configuration.

What would it take to create such a composite type? If you would point me into the right direction I could try and PR something like that? The fact that it's a declarative system without control over where the files are actually linked to has always been frustrating to me. I don't have much experience with Nix outside of configuration but I've wanted an excuse to pick it up :)
