Userspace parses this and sets the ro.boot.verifiedbootstate prop
according to the value that this flag has. When ro.boot.verifiedbootstate
is not 'green', SafetyNet is tripped and fails the CTS test.

Hide verifiedbootstate from /proc/cmdline in order to fix the failed
SafetyNet CTS check.

Running mmcqd as a prio 120 thread forces it to compete with standard
user processes for IO performance, especially when the system is under
severe CPU load. Move it to a SCHED_FIFO thread to reduce the impact of
load on IO performance.

CPU L2 cache is being power collapsed and resumed during
video sessions which is consuming more power unnecessarily.
So disable CPU L2 cache power collapse during video sessions
using qos requests to save power.

adreno_dispatch_work and _kgsl_event_worker are both low-latency
low-runtime functions that are in the critical path of GPU
rendering. Moving them out of workqueues and into a dedicated FIFO
kthread avoids significant jitter.

When the user's finger is on the touchscreen, don't process any keypad
button presses, as an unintended button press will cause poor UX.

Register an input handler to check when there are fingers on the
touchscreen (via BTN_TOOL_FINGER) to disable/enable the keypad accordingly.

(cherry picked from commit 06af1c52c9ea234e0b1266cc0b52c3e0c6c8fe9f)

The current lz4 compress buffer is 16kb on 32-bits, 32kb on 64-bits
system. But, lz4 needs only 16kb on both. On 64-bits, this causes
wasted cpu cycles for additional memset during every compression.

In case of lz4hc, the current buffer size is (256kb + 8) on 32-bits,
(512kb + 16) on 64-bits. But, lz4hc needs only (256kb + 2 * pointer) on
both.

This patch fixes these wrong compress buffer sizes for 64-bits.

cpuidle was disabled while entering suspend as part of commit
8651f97 in order to work around some
ACPI bugs. However, there's no reason to do this on modern
platforms. Leaving cpuidle enabled can result in improved power
consumption if dpm_resume_noirq runs for a significant time.

When ->freeze_fs is called from lvm for doing snapshot, it needs to
make sure there will be no more changes in filesystem's data, however,
previously, background threads like GC thread wasn't aware of freezing,
so in environment with active background threads, data of snapshot
becomes unstable.

This patch fixes this issue by adding sb_{start,end}_intwrite in
below background threads:
- GC thread
- flush thread
- discard thread

It's caused by skb_shared_info at the end of sk_buff was overwritten by
ISCSI_KEVENT_IF_ERROR when parsing nlmsg info from skb in iscsi_if_rx.

During the loop if skb->len == nlh->nlmsg_len and both are sizeof(*nlh),
ev = nlmsg_data(nlh) will acutally get skb_shinfo(SKB) instead and set a
new value to skb_shinfo(SKB)->nr_frags by ev->type.

This patch is to fix it by checking nlh->nlmsg_len properly there to
avoid over accessing sk_buff.

When ->freeze_fs is called from lvm for doing snapshot, it needs to
make sure there will be no more changes in filesystem's data, however,

If a network driver provides to napi_gro_frags() an
skb with a page fragment of exactly 14 bytes, the call
to gro_pull_from_frag0() will 'consume' the fragment
by calling skb_frag_unref(skb, 0), and the page might
be freed and reused.

Reading eth->h_proto at the end of napi_frags_skb() might
read mangled data, or crash under specific debugging features.

[ Upstream commit f3e92cb8e2eb8c27d109e6fd73d3a69a8c09e288 ]

Nine years ago, I added RCU handling to neighbours, not pneighbours.
(pneigh are not commonly used)

Unfortunately I missed that /proc dump operations would use a
common entry and exit point : neigh_seq_start() and neigh_seq_stop()

We need to read_lock(tbl->lock) or risk use-after-free while
iterating the pneigh structures.

We might later convert pneigh to RCU and revert this patch.

ppajda pushed a commit to ppajda/android_kernel_oneplus_msm8996 that referenced this pull request Mar 22, 2020
Currently, smp_processor_id() is used to fetch the current CPU in
cpu_idle_loop(). Every time the idle thread runs, it fetches the
current CPU using smp_processor_id().

Since the idle thread is per CPU, the current CPU is constant, so we
can lift the load out of the loop, saving execution cycles/time in the
loop.

x86-64:

Before patch (execution in loop):
	148: 0f ae e8 lfence

	155: 49 0f a3 04 24 bt %rax,(%r12)

After patch (execution in loop):
	150: 0f ae e8 lfence
	153: 4d 0f a3 34 24 bt %r14,(%r12)

ARM64:

Before patch (execution in loop):

	18c: 36000e61 tbz w1,#0,358

After patch (execution in loop):

	1b4: 54000ea0 b.eq 388

Further observance on ARM64 for 4 seconds shows that cpu_idle_loop is
called 8672 times. Shifting the code will save instructions executed
in loop and eventually time as well.
