Getting Started

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.12+
  • Node.js 18+
  • pnpm (recommended) or npm
  • OpenAI API Key

1. Clone the Repository

git clone https://github.com/Team-Hacksmith/ScripturaAI.git
cd ScripturaAI

2. Backend Setup

cd backend

# Install dependencies using Poetry
pip install poetry
poetry install

# Or use pip
pip install -r requirements.txt

# Set up environment variables
cp .env.example .env
# Edit .env and add your OpenAI API key

3. Frontend Setup

cd frontend

# Install dependencies
pnpm install
# or npm install

# Start development server
pnpm dev
# or npm run dev

4. VS Code Extension Setup

cd hacksmith-vsce

# Install dependencies
pnpm install

# Package the extension (optional)
npx vsce package

5. Environment Configuration

Create a .env file in the backend directory:

OPENAI_API_KEY=your_openai_api_key_here

Usage

Web Interface

  1. Start the Backend:

    cd backend
    poetry run python main.py
    # or python main.py
  2. Start the Frontend:

    cd frontend
    pnpm dev
  3. Open your browser to http://localhost:3000

VS Code Extension

  1. Install the extension from the hacksmith-vsce folder

  3. Press Ctrl+D or run "hacksmith" command
