1.9 "History": no time passed between commits in `git log`

Both commits were logged as occurring Saturday Oct 10, 2020 at 8:30am exactly, without a second in between. Setting the second one to 9am would be a good fix. This doesn't make sense as we didn't make the commits at the same time.
