isMisspelled() always returns false under Linux after publishing in Electron app

isMisspelled() returns the correct value when running in development Linux build. However, when releasing the app the method stops working.

Is it possible this is related to the app.asar that we are building? Are you aware of such issue?

I just ran into this problem too. Is this npm package still monitored / maintained? Can anyone at least help me debug the issue?

I'm not trying to be flippant, just curious since there doesn't seem to be a lot of activity here.

FYI, for those finding this in the future, disabling asar fixes the issue.

So the crux of the issue is node-spellchecker expects these hunspell dictionary files to be available in a very specific directory although the docs never tell you that. If you are using electron-builder (and I recommend it) then you can add this to your json to fix the issue:

     {
        "from": "node_modules/spellchecker/vendor",
        "to": "app.asar.unpacked/node_modules/spellchecker/vendor",
        "filter": "**/*"
      }
    ],
...

(code blocks don't seem to work here, so that's as close as I could get)

At build time the above lines will get the dictionaries and place them in the right location. To use the system default directories on Linux would require a fork of this project, and I don't have time for it right now.
