Redirection does not work properly when only browser installed is Microsoft Edge

Description

If only browser installed in the android device is Microsoft Edge then redirection after login does not go straight back in the app but shows an app picker instead. Same setup works fine with Chrome!

Attaching the sample app with my setup to reproduce the issue locally.

Reproduction

1. Create an android emulator with play store
2. Disable all preinstalled browsers
3. Install MS Edge browser https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.microsoft.emmx&hl=en
4. Install the attached sample app
5. Run the app and click authenticate
6. Login with the credentials
   username: useras@giorgos.com
   password: Kwdikos#66

What happens: App picker is opened
What should happens: Land directly back to the sample app

@ktiniatros , Are you using a custom scheme or App links for your application ? From the description this is more of browser behaviour rather than the SDK . Could you check in the settings of Edge and allow it to open external site ?

This is the scheme I'm using: <string name="com_auth0_scheme">app</string>

Using <string name="com_auth0_scheme">myapp</string> scheme results to the same behavior.

Not sure what you mean about the Edge settings to allow it to open external site, I don't see such a setting in Edge:

Could you run the attached sample from my initial post? You can reproduce it there yourself!

Hi @ktiniatros , Yes I am able to reproduce this behaviour . What I wanted to check is that if you have some thing like this set in your browser settings.

As I mentioned above, this is a browser behaviour rather than as SDK one. If you check the option of Remember my choice ,the url should be redirected automatically the second time

What is weird for me is that Edge tries to open my deep link: app://dev-6202ktdovd1r5afz.us.auth0.com

Moreover, if I register such a deep link for my activity and I try to open it:

adb shell am start -a android.intent.action.VIEW -d "app://mylink.com/test"

then it opens directly my app without an app chooser dialog.

You can find attached an updated sample where you can try this.

I just realised that is not auth0 trying to open a deep link but a warning dialog of Edge when opening external links in general. Same happens eg for Play Store deep links:
