Spec now lives on PCP at pcp://specs/agent-auth v2 — the canonical home for collaborative specs. No need for a duplicate in the repo.

Original content preserved in the artifact with full versioning, comments, and multi-agent access.

Formal spec for extending MCP with agent identity as a first-class
protocol concept. Covers:

- Layer model: user auth → agent identity → authorization
- Agent credential format (JWT with agent_id/identity_id claims)
- Token delegation: one human login, many agent credentials
- Environment portability: local CLI, cloud studios, containers
- Write-path attribution enforcement
- Credential lifecycle, revocation, and cascade
- Enforcement modes (strict, delegated, pinned, open)
- CLI UX for provisioning and status
- PCP implementation status and roadmap
