+Cryptomator für Android ist ab sofort mit einem neuen **Freemium-Modell** verfügbar. Bisher gab es die App nur als kostenpflichtige Version – künftig kannst du Cryptomator für Android kostenlos kennenlernen und bei Bedarf auf den vollen Funktionsumfang upgraden.

+So senken wir die Einstiegshürde: Mehr Menschen können selbst erleben, wie einfach clientseitige Verschlüsselung auf dem Smartphone funktioniert. Das Grundprinzip bleibt unverändert – deine Dateien werden auf deinem Gerät verschlüsselt, bevor sie in die Cloud hochgeladen werden.

+## Kostenlose Einstiegsversion und Vollversion

+Der zentrale Unterschied liegt im Zugriff auf deine Tresore: In der **kostenlosen Version startest du mit Lesezugriff**. Du kannst deine Tresore öffnen und deine verschlüsselten Dateien ansehen. Den **vollen Zugriff** – also auch das Hinzufügen, Bearbeiten und Verwalten von Dateien – schaltest du jederzeit per **In-App-Kauf oder durch Eingabe deiner Lizenz** frei.

+Ausschließlich in der neuen App kannst du den vollen Funktionsumfang neben dem einmaligen In-App-Kauf auch über ein **Abo** freischalten. Im aktiven Zustand erhältst du in beiden Fällen die komplette Vollversion – im Alltag macht das also keinen Unterschied. Ein kleiner Unterschied bleibt aber: Während der einmalige In-App-Kauf dauerhaft bestehen bleibt, ist der volle Zugriff beim Abo an dessen Laufzeit gebunden. Mit einem Abo unterstützt du dafür das Cryptomator-Team fortlaufend und hilfst so, die Weiterentwicklung der App langfristig zu sichern.

+Cryptomator for Android is now available with a new **freemium model**. Until now, the app was only available as a paid version—going forward, you can get to know Cryptomator for Android for free and upgrade to the full feature set whenever you need to.

+This lowers the barrier to entry: more people can experience for themselves how easy client-side encryption is on a smartphone. The basic principle stays the same—your files are encrypted on your device before they are uploaded to the cloud.

+## Free Entry-Level Version and Full Version
+
+The key difference lies in how you access your vaults: in the **free version, you start with read-only access**. You can open your vaults and view your encrypted files. **Full access**—including adding, editing, and managing files—can be unlocked at any time via **in-app purchase or by entering your license**.
+
+**Only in the new app** can you also unlock the full feature set via a **subscription**, in addition to the one-time in-app purchase. While it's active, you get the complete full version either way—so in everyday use it makes no difference. There is one small difference, though: while the one-time in-app purchase remains permanent, full access with a subscription is tied to its term. Once the subscription ends, you fall back to the read-only access of the free version. In return, a subscription supports the Cryptomator team on an ongoing basis and helps secure the app's continued development in the long run.
