I've been recommending this project to a few people recently and they've appreciated it. It would be nice to make it easier to install. Are there any blockers to putting this on PyPI?

This seems currently in a stable state for PBS and SLURM, based on the last (few) comments we had.
Adaptive cluster seems to be broken (#26), but this is probably not a blocker.
Maybe we should wait to have the SGE implementation #27 merged?

I think we're mostly ready for a alpha release that can go on pypi. Let's wrap up #27 and then create a tag.

Just curious, does pip install git+https://github.com/dask/dask-jobqueue not qualify as easy to install?

I find that the git+https:// syntax is often scary for novice users.

On the plus side, we got someone who was relatively new to Python (a few months) was up and running on a PBS cluster in about 20 minutes.

We also ran into issues with docrep on Python 2. I didn't explore these much though.

I totally agree on the scary side of installing directly from the master branch of a git repo, especially for non developers.

It would be interesting to raise some issue on the docrep problem, even if I believe we should push users to python 3.

Yeah, I apologize for not having a good reproducer of that issue. I suggest that we ignore it for now until someone (maybe me) comes up with a demonstration of it.
