This reverts commit ccaf57f (#380).
We're going back to the drawing board with the implementation of this feature in userland code.
Since we didn't provide an official integration point into the Electron Forge pipeline, we'll make an exception to our SemVer policy (because removing a feature is technically a breaking change) and go back to the drawing board.
