Description
On Linux, pressing the alt key while Riot is in the foreground toggles the visibility of the menu bar (the one with "File," "Edit, "View," etc.—see screenshot) This is annoying when alt-tabbing between programs because it changes the layout of the window slightly every time the menu appears or disappears.
I had this same problem in Firefox, but was able to work around it by setting the menu to always be visible, as it only gets toggled on and off when it's not shown by default. Apparently this problem is not something you can configure at the system level and needs to be addressed individually by each application. Having an "always show the menu bar" option in Riot seems that it would be sufficient to prevent the alt key toggling its visibility.
Steps to reproduce
- Install Riot's desktop version on Linux. (I'm using Ubuntu.)
- Press the alt key while Riot is in the foreground.
