Sphinx Grids with Image not compiling to Latex properly

Describe the bug

context
When I create sphinx grid with images.

expectation
I expected the latex generated pdf to look roughly the same as the webpage.

bug
But instead it creates a deformed result.

problem
This is a problem for people doing latex generation because the meaning of the grid is lost.
