@garrettjonesgoogle I was under the impression that we were only going to deprecate this. Do we package-private them too?

We were only marking them deprecated while the deprecated PubSub package still existed which referenced these methods; now that the deprecated PubSub package is deleted, we can make them package private.

@garrettjonesgoogle PubSubExample.java still seems to be using it 😢 I actually thought we deleted this a while back.

@lesv @jabubake Do you have any thoughts on how we might resolve this? With the new Subscriber class, it is no longer possible to separate pull and acknowledge messages.
