Snapshots are not being published as documented

The README (and several other places including old issues) refers to snapshots and says they are published in sonatype's repository, with a link that is invalid. Sonatype are having issues with browsing snapshots, but AFAIK they still exist. I can't figure out without an example how to get a snapshot dependency.

The sonatype snapshot repository URL in the README https://central.sonatype.com/repository/maven-snapshots is correct. So if you are using maven it would look like

That doesn't work for me (as originally posted - the 1.75.0 version is available, but you don't need a snapshot repo for that). Did you try it? If you browse to the link you pasted above (the one from the README) you just get a 404 and a link to https://central.sonatype.com/. There's no way to find out what's in there, and apparently none of the grpc-java artifacts I tried (including grpc-services) is there. That's confusing. Are the snapshots actually being published?

I wrongly assumed we automatically publish snapshots like 1.76.0-SNAPSHOT to sonatype, it turns out we don't (I have updated the sample I posted). You will only find the release versions (the latest being 1.75.0) on sonatype.
The repository URL does not work on the browser as such but maven is able to download:

Snapshots would be quite useful (and the docs are definitely wrong then).

It seems snapshots overall have been broken since #12156 as you have to manually enable snapshots for the namespace in sonatype, and that hadn't been done. I just did so, and it appears to be working now at the new location https://central.sonatype.com/repository/maven-snapshots/io/grpc/grpc-api/maven-metadata.xml

Snapshots have always been on-demand for grpc-java. Nightlies would be useful, but it hasn't come to pass because sonatype uses a different upload API for snapshots.
