Will NVDA be bumped soon?

Looking for answer to same question so rather than opening a new issue commenting on this one and appending my findings. I just tested that this seems to nowadays work with vanilla NVDA as well since the remote option seems to be available directly from NVDA without addon, although requires some manual steps:

NOTE: My installation of NVDA is under "Program Files" and not on "Program Files (x86)":

1. Create the registry entry manually and point it to your NVDA installation, basically in powershell:

New-Item -Path "HKCU:\Software\Guidepup\Nvda" -Force | Out-Null
Set-ItemProperty -Path "HKCU:\Software\Guidepup\Nvda" `
  -Name "guidepup_nvda_1.0.0" `
  -Value "C:\Program Files\NVDA" `
  -Type String

2. Copy the userConfig files:

mkdir 'C:\Program Files\NVDA\userConfig'
git clone https://github.com/guidepup/nvda guidepup-nvda
cd  guidepup-nvda
cp 'nvda\userConfig\nvda.ini' 'C:\Program Files\NVDA\userConfig\nvda.ini'
cp 'nvda\userConfig\remote.ini' 'C:\Program Files\NVDA\userConfig\remote.ini'
cp -r 'nvda\userConfig\addons' 'C:\Program Files\NVDA\userConfig\addons' 

actually only the server.pem in correct path from addons is needed.

I'm testing at the moment how it's working, but so far for example the example test cases seem to execute just fine and the real test cases.

I wonder if there are any other changes in this project (on code level) to NVDA than the configuration files and the addon as there is no source really here, only the precompiled executable files

Ah TIL re remote access being merged into core (nvaccess/nvda#17580)

Not been very active with this recently, will try take a look. Suspect the NVDA download and install step can be simplified, not sure why I made some of the choices originally 🫠

Apologies for the wait!

Set up a new workflow so should be able to detect new versions on a nightly so can keep a bit more up to date than every 5 years 😂

Need to do some more checks and updates to other repos, but hopefully usable soon.
