- Sending and receiving packets, we assume you'll do this one in Python, but the brave can choose to use C
- Computing network paths based on different application types. This one will be in Python as we're providing some code to start with
- Simulate the forwarding of packets based on longest prefix matches. This one is in C
- Implement system routines in C
