Lead software engineer turning complex systems and civic data into useful, verifiable tools.
I'm based in Macon, Georgia. At Cox Automotive, I work on tools used by thousands of developers around the world. Outside of work, I build open-source software, investigate public data, and write about what I learn.
- Developer tools and practical AI-assisted workflows
- Civic data, public records, and government accountability
- Python, Rust, TypeScript, cloud infrastructure, and the web
- Technology that supports local organizations and public service
| Project | What it does | Built with |
|---|---|---|
| Vote Match | Audits voter-district assignments using public voter rolls and GIS boundary data | Python, PostGIS, QGIS |
| Fastmail Python SDK | Provides access to Fastmail email, contacts, calendars, and iCalendar data | Python, JMAP |
| Ferrisbar | Shows model, task, directory, and context information in a Claude Code status line | Rust |
| RustyWX | Provides a cross-platform GUI for weather monitoring | Rust |
I publish notes, essays, and field reports about civic data, local government, education, digital privacy, and software. My recent work includes an open analysis of voter-district mismatches and a plain-language breakdown of the Bibb County School District budget.
I also serve as a Noncommissioned Officer in the Georgia State Defense Force and volunteer with the Macon-Bibb Emergency Management Agency.
