Oftentimes the avatars in the inbox look like this:
That’s really sad but unavoidable. You’re not going to have all of these mails in your Contacts, especially not from notifications of Twitter or Meetup or Facebook or Wikimedia, DHL, Amazon, etc blabla.
So how about when there’s no avatar we try to get something from another source?
- Contacts app / federation (for people you know) cc @schiessle
- Gravatar (if people use that)
- Favicon of the domain (especially good for notifications)
- More …?
