Need a new release to npm

https://www.npmjs.com/package/nan does not contain many of the recent fixes already merged in this repo.

• Support Node 23 #979 is important to add to the GitHub Actions, finalize, and then merge.
• AppVeyor: Test and support versions 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, and 22 #983 aligns README.md and AppVeyor with the versions that pass in GitHub Actions.

There are a lot of nan-related issues on the node-gyp repository. Many of these could be solved by running the current code in this repo. The two items above would allow for an even more robust release.
