Black borders around windows with GTK 3.16

I'm using the latest git version of Numix on Archlinux with Openbox 3.5.2 and no compositor. After updating to GTK 3.16, all GTK3 applications (evince, file-roller, Baobab, ...) have a big black border around the application window. This border only appears when the Numix theme is used.

I was able to remove the bars by adding the following lines to ~/.config/gtk-3.0/gtk.css:

.window-frame {
  box-shadow: none;
  margin: 1;
}

This is really annoying and is happening to all my windows using Arch Linux + i3wm and the Numix theme.

Any chance this change can be pulled into master?

Actually what you need is a new class that was introduced for CSD when used without compositor.

@satya164: I can't test Gtk3.16 myself at the moment, but these lines will do the trick (colors would have to be tweaked a bit for Numix)

I tried the answer by @Phaeilo and found that even a 1px margin was unnecessary. And modified my ~/.config/gtk-3.0/gtk.css to be:

  box-shadow: none;
  margin: 0;
}

And the same with the answer by @ochosi . Why does there need to be a margin?

@benkaiser with margin: 0 you don't get any border around the window. This can be quite confusing when two windows with similar background colors are stacked on top of each other. Also, you won't be able to resize the window by dragging its corners or edges.

@Phaeilo Ah I see. Thanks for clearing that up. I use i3wm and it renders it's own borders / has it's own controls for resizing so CSD borders don't really apply to me but I see why other window managers would need them.

I stumbled across this bug through Google, however my setup is quite different: Intel video chip, Xfce&Compiz with compiz-gtk-decorator as decorator, Adwaita as GTK3 theme, Adwaita-Manjaro-Light as GTK2 theme and decorator theme. So, no Numix involved at all. However I got these black borders today. Reducing the margin in gtk.css reduces the impact but still a 1px black border remains. Also since the window corners are rounded, there are black corners. Any idea what goes wrong here on the rendering level and where to report this bug?

Thanks @ochosi, works fine with Gedit on Ubuntu 15.10 with GTK 3.17.3 (why it is not included in Numix Daily yet?), however there are still bugs with System monitor, any suggestions?
