What issue are you seeing?

I really like the new unified ChatGPT + Codex experience, but one change has significantly impacted my daily workflow.

The current sidebar only supports Priority, Recently Updated, and Manual sorting. However, Recently Updated is not the same as Recently Used.

As a user who switches between many active projects every day, I expect opening and actively chatting in a project to move it toward the top automatically. Today, projects I use constantly remain buried unless I manually reorder them or search every time.

Suggested improvements:

  • Add a 'Recently Used (Last Accessed)' sorting option.
  • Keep 'Recently Updated' as a separate option.
  • Optionally allow 'Automatically move active projects to the top.'

This behavior matches IDEs like VS Code and JetBrains, where recently opened workspaces naturally rise to the top, making frequent context switching much faster.

Opening a project is also a form of activity and should influence project ordering even if no project metadata has changed.

What steps can reproduce the bug?
