Getting close towards the end of the formatting changes I'd like to get in before making more functional changes.
The last significant one would be to use auto properties, which simplifies the code quite a bit, but the auto-fix drops some comments (and creates some ambiguity since
_disposedis used forClosedis some situations), so these ones are less contentious.
