php-memcached added but not enabled

Because memcached was readded, I updated the oc11-prealpha image today and checked the php prerequisites:

✔️ exists in /etc/php/8.3/mods-available
❌ does not exist in /etc/php/8.3/apache2/conf.d

I am curious if memcached.ini should show up (link) in conf.d (missing phpenmod in Dockerfile?)

Thanks for flagging this @mmattel. I checked the current published owncloud/base:24.04 image (built 2026-06-21, which already includes the php-memcached addition from owncloud-docker/php#276) and the extension is enabled there:

php -m likewise lists memcached alongside redis, apcu, igbinary and msgpack.

So memcached.ini does show up (linked) in conf.d, and no extra phpenmod call is needed in the Dockerfile: the Ubuntu php8.3-memcached package's postinst runs phpenmod automatically and creates the conf.d symlink for all SAPIs — exactly the same mechanism that enables redis/apcu. There is no missing phpenmod in the Dockerfile.

The most likely explanation for what you saw on 2026-06-15: the prealpha image you tested was built before the base image's FROM owncloud/php:24.04 digest was bumped to pull in #276, so it still had the older php layer without the extension. Once the base rebuild picked up the new php image (the current :24.04 tag), the extension is present and enabled.

Could you re-pull the latest image (or the next prealpha rebuilt on top of it) and confirm on your side? If memcached is still not showing up in your conf.d after that, please reopen with the exact image digest you tested so we can dig in.
