[WIP] Add tests

Problem

This repo needs tests that run on push and PR so that we can catch breaking changes early.

Solution

Describe the approach you took. Link to any relevant bugs, issues, docs, or other resources.

Installed and configured Jest and added an initial test, with more to come.

Test Plan
