Course Name
Computer Networks (Semester 4)
Why should this be added?
Computer Networks is one of the core subjects in Computer Science Engineering and is commonly taught in Semester 4 across many universities. Adding this subject will help students access structured, beginner-friendly notes and module-wise explanations similar to existing subjects like Operating Systems.
The subject will include the following chapters/modules:
- Introduction to Computer Networks
- Physical Layer
- Data Link Layer
- Network Layer
- Transport Layer
- Application Layer
- Network Security
- Wireless and Modern Networks
Topics such as OSI/TCP-IP models, IP addressing, routing, TCP/UDP, networking protocols, security concepts, and wireless communication will also be covered.
The contribution will follow the current openCSE structure and formatting style to maintain consistency across subjects.
Additional Context
To make reviewing easier and maintain cleaner pull requests, the content will be contributed through multiple smaller PRs, with approximately 3–4 chapters/modules included in each PR.
