Can you please be a bit more specific? What databases would that work for? How would it be parsed?

When connecting to a Postgres database using SSL, I have to connect like this:

var dbConfig = {
  user: 'myuser',
  database: 'mydatabase',
  password: 'password',
  host: 'mydb.example.tld',
  ssl: true
}
var Client = require('pg').Client;
var client = new Client(dbConfig);

If ?ssl=true were set, it'd be handy to add that to the dictionary.

@pwnall I suggest to replace the native querystring of node with: https://github.com/tj/node-querystring

This will solve all problems with this once and for all. There are some databases, that support client certificate authentication though, i.e. cockroachdb. In those cases the database_url currently lacks the support.
