What changes are you trying to make? (e.g. Adding or removing code, refactoring existing code, adding reports)
I have added and then updated the shell scripts for the Shell / Git assignment. The purpose was to automate file processing, move or remove files based on given rules in the assignment.
What did you learn from the changes you have made?
I learned to use shell commands to conduct the changes related to managing files given in the assignment.
Was there another approach you were thinking about making? If so, what approach(es) were you thinking of?
For now, the only approach I can think of is to manually copy, move, or delete the files/folders using the regular way on my computer. But without shell scripts, I wouldn't be able to automate and push these changes to GitHub.
Were there any challenges? If so, what issue(s) did you face? How did you overcome it?
I faced a challenge understanding Q8. First, I thought it requires listing all the directories in the subfolders of ./data/processed. But then I realized that it says files, not directories. So, I updated my code.
How were these changes tested?
I tested the scripts on my computer on the real directory (shell/activities/assignments) and also on a sample directory (shell/activities/assignment_test_clean). I checked whether the files are organized as requested in the assignment.
