I'm out of ideas. You can maybe try to add some debugging messages into root_src/cmake/modules/Findryml.cmake to see what's going on, and try adding 0.8.0 to or things like that to ryml. Maybe @hageboeck has ideas.

So in short, RapidYAML is not any more supported for the time being.

@cxwx I talked to @guitargeek about this. For the near future, there is no time to support the RapidYAML backend, and it's currently broken (I tried to enable it). Given that there are YAML to JSON converters, we think that the best way forward is to use those, and focus on the JSON functionality.
Please let us know if that covers your use cases.

Regarding this issue, I suggest we close it, and I opened a PR that clarifies that RYML won't be available, for the time being.
