Normal libVLC applications: plugins go in the plugins/ folder and lua scripts go in the lua folder on Windows and share/ on the other OS. They are on the root level compared to libvlc. See your normal VLC installation.

VLC can play YouTube videos,
I parsed out the YouTube video source address, then opened the url directly, and it was ready to play. But it is not stable and always gives an error:
