No quotes around column names in Postgres

What happened?

SQLC is not adding quotes around columns in postgresql.

Query:

SELECT * FROM "Article";

Generated Query

SELECT id, title, publishDate FROM "Article";

No "" quotes around publishDate since it is camelCase 🤷‍♂️.

How can I get sqlc to generate query like this:

SELECT "id", "title", "publishDate" FROM "Article";

Um, I may have misunderstood your problem. Have you tried
SELECT "id", "title", "publishDate" FROM "Article"; when specifying the query in your queries.sql (instead of using the wildcard)? When I do that, sqlc generates the quotes in the query and it works as I would expect.

@akutschera Yes I have tried that and that works, but one of my tables have many columns and I don't want to specify them every time, want to use * and if there is a column with camel case sqlc should automatically surround it with quotes.

While I personally believe specifying each column you want in your answer is a good idea, I can understand your desire to just say "all columns" as in SELECT * FROM tablename.
The PR would fix it, even though I'd be happier if it were rejected, but that's not my decision.

I agree, but in larger systems, it is not possible to provide all the columns every time, if the column names generated by sqlc are surrounded by double quotes "", it will solve this problem without breaking anything.
