Categories list shows html entities and code for doublebyte characters

On the new categories list, the category Pride & Prejudice is displayed Pride & Prejudice.

Doublebyte characters, kanji for instance, are shown as character codes. For example, カテゴリ is カテゴリ

On the edit screen for a post with category showing an &
Tap to add another category.
On the category list, add or remove any other category.
Return to the edit screen.

The category with the & has been removed.

Interestingly, if I create a new category inside the app and include an & in that category it displays as expected until I refresh the categories list. Then the behavior described above comes into play.
