Why

TODO comment indicated that topi.take should be replaced with relax.op.take once it has better support. The relax take operator is now mature enough to replace the TOPI external call.

How

  • Replace bb.emit_te(topi.take, ...) with relax.op.take(..., axis=0) in EmbedLayerNormalization converter

Summary of Changes

Hello @guan404ming, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request modernizes the ONNX frontend by replacing the topi.take operator with relax.op.take in the EmbedLayerNormalization converter. This update leverages the improved maturity of the relax.op.take functionality, fulfilling a previously noted TODO item and enhancing the integration of take operations within the Relax framework. Additionally, minor formatting adjustments were made to relax.op.reshape calls for better readability.

Highlights

  • Operator Replacement: Replaced instances of bb.emit_te(topi.take, ...) with relax.op.take(..., axis=0) within the EmbedLayerNormalization converter in onnx_frontend.py.
  • Code Modernization: The change addresses a TODO comment, indicating that the relax.op.take operator is now sufficiently mature to replace the external topi.take call, aligning with the Relax framework's evolution.
  • Code Readability: Minor formatting adjustments were made to relax.op.reshape calls in the SpaceToDepth operator implementation, improving code clarity.

Code Review

This pull request correctly replaces the use of topi.take via bb.emit_te with the native relax.op.take in the EmbedLayerNormalization ONNX converter. This change is a good improvement, as it leverages a native Relax operator, which is more efficient and integrates better with Relax's analysis and optimization passes. The implementation is correct. The PR also includes a minor, unrelated formatting change that is acceptable. Overall, the changes are solid and I approve of them.
