Up-stream PR has been merged, next steps:

• add support for the is_child instead of elastic.is_child spanlink-attribute in apm-data: Add support for is_child in addition to elastic.is_child SpanLink attribute apm-data#321
• sometime after the change in apm-data has been released, replace this implementation with the upstream one but add a translation layer for the existing elastic.* config options

This issue is currently blocked on instrumentation release 2.11.0 (not yet published yet, likely in ~1 week) that will provide release 1.41.0 of contrib as dependency.
